About Me

My name is Natalia Jerzmanowska (Yesh-ma-nov-ska) (she/her/hers). I have been working alongside people who experience life challenges and distress for 25 years.

I hold a Master of Social Work (Qualifying) and a Master of Psychology (Research). I also hold an Accredited Clinical Supervision Certificate with Clinical Supervision Services. I am a member of Australian Association of Social Workers and an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker. I have completed Level 1 and Level 2 training in narrative practice at the Dulwich Centre in Adelaide. I have completed training with Internal Family Systems Australia and Connection Heals. I have a Certificate in Trauma-Informed Plant Medicine Facilitation program with Atira Tan.

My practice is inspired by a variety of approaches and theories:

• Internal Family Systems (IFS)

• Supervision of Solidarity (Vikki Reynolds)

• Narrative Therapy and Community Practice

• Non-Violent Communication (NVC)

• Mad Studies and critical “mental health” theories

• Polyvagal and Window of Tolerance theories

• Non-diet, Health at Every Size and body neutrality approaches to healing eating issues and body dissatisfaction

• Maastricht Interview for working with voices and unusual thoughts

• Alternatives to Suicide Mutual Support

• Feminist, Queer and Intersectional theories

• Mindfulness and Meditation

• Bodymind practices (yoga, qigong, bodywork)

As a supervisor and consultant, my practice is informed by anti-oppressive, de-colonising and intersectional feminist frameworks. I have a commitment to non-pathologizing modes of support and care. There aren’t so many spaces in our culture where we get informed support without being put into a box. In my own life, I have found this approach to be the most affirming and liberating.

My professional experience is deeply informed by my lived experiences of emotional and psychological distress and chronic pain as well as my ongoing commitment to critical self-reflection.

I am a white settler on the countries of the Gadigal, Darug and Gungangurra people. My ancestors are Polish and Romani folks. I am English and Polish spoken.

In my spare time I enjoy bushwalking, freediving and reading.
